Meet the team interview: Elena

Meet Elena!

Elena is a Creative Lead here at AMZ Pathfinder. She is from Croatia, where she currently lives, and has worked with AMZ Pathfinder for almost 3 years. In her spare time, she enjoys playing chess and going for long walks in nature. We caught up with her to find out more about her career, life outside of work, and advice for anyone looking to break into a similar role.

Elena, tell us about your role and what you do day-to-day…

In my role, I’m responsible for managing projects from start to finish for Amazon listings and storefronts. Additionally, I communicate with clients and make sure I keep them updated.

How did you embark on your career?

I originally began my career as a PPC manager but gradually developed into a Creative Lead. I was drawn to the fact that well-optimized listings can significantly impact a product’s growth and profitability. I saw it as an opportunity to master this skill and to help sellers succeed.

I enjoy that my role allows me to dive deeper into how to create success for clients and find different angles that help me achieve powerful results.

What is the most valuable advice anyone has ever given you?

The most valuable advice I have ever received was from my sister, which is: “No matter what comes your way, keep going.” This simple yet powerful advice has been a constant source of motivation and resilience throughout my career.

What is your favorite part of your role?

My favorite part of my role is witnessing the tangible results of our work for clients. It’s incredibly rewarding to see our strategies deliver positive outcomes and, in the process, relieve clients of some of their workload.

One particular highlight of my role is having the opportunity to work with a wide array of clients who think outside the box. It’s very inspiring.

What is the most valuable thing you have learned in your career?

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned in my career is that no matter how much you know, you’ll always be a student when it comes to Amazon. The platform is constantly evolving, and so staying up-to-date, and continuously upskilling, is essential.

What advice would you give to others who want to become an account manager?

If you’re aspiring to become an account manager, the best way to get started is to learn by doing and through trial and error.

Additionally, my advice would be to think like a customer. Walk through the customer journey as they would, searching for products and evaluating them. Understanding the customer perspective is key to success in this role.

As the world becomes increasingly more digitally-led, what is your best tip for companies selling on Amazon?

As the world becomes increasingly more digitally-led, my best tip for companies selling on Amazon is to avoid putting all your eggs in one basket. Diversify your sources of traffic by leveraging social media platforms to profitably grow your presence. Also, keep in mind that the job of product growth is never fully completed; it’s an ongoing journey with various milestones to achieve. Initially, there are three months of advance planning per product and bi-weekly A/B testing to keep increasing the conversion rate and growth of a product to stay in-game profitability.
